Stellar Converter for NSF Review – Fast NSF to PST conversion tool.

Microsoft Outlook and IBM Notes are two widely-recognized email clients that are used in enterprises. While Outlook is prevalentin both business and personal use, IBM Lotus Notes is mainly deployed for business use.

Compared to Outlook, Lotus Notes’ usage has decreased dramatically due to its high maintenance cost and limited features. As a result, organizations that currently use Lotus Notes are migrating to MS Outlook. The problem is, this migration isn’t easy as you can’t simply move Lotus Notes mailboxes directly to MS Outlook. To perform this migration properly, you need to use a dedicated NSF to PST converter software. Stellar Converter for NSF is one such software that many organizations use.

Reasons to Use NSF to PST Converter Software

  • Transporter Suite used to perform NSF to PST migration manually imposes a size limit on the NSF data that can be migrated. Further, this tool can only be used for 2007 Microsoft Office systems.
  • Downtime is a serious concern for organizations planning to move Lotus Notes to Outlook. Each minute the business communication is down due to migration impacts the workflow and productivity. A specialized NSF to PST converter software is the fastest way to export Lotus Notes data to MS Outlook.
  • The last thing that an organization wants during NSF to PST migration is the loss of email data. Migrating the data manually raises the risk of human error and data loss/corruption. Hence, an NSF to PST converter tool is used to remove this threat.

Introduction to Stellar Converter for NSF

Stellar Converter for NSF is a complete Lotus Notes to MS Outlook migration solution. It converts NSF emails, contacts, calendars, etc., into Outlook-compatible PST files. The tool is easy to use, fast, and even comes with the option of direct Lotus Notes to Office 365 migration(technician edition)

How does it work?

Using Stellar Converter for NSF is easy. Even those who have limited knowledge of Lotus Notes and Outlook can use the tool to perform successful mailbox migration.

Note: You need Lotus Notes and MS Outlook on the system where Stellar Converter for NSF is used. The utility won’t run if either of these isn’t preinstalled.

Here’s how I used the software:

  1. I launched the software, and it opened with a Select NSF File window. Since I knew where I had saved the NSF file locally, I clicked the Browse button and provided the file’s path. However, I did test the Find button, which allows you to find the NSF file automatically. It workedas intended and I found the NSF files in the drive partitionentered by me.
  1. I clicked the Convert button, and the software began the file conversion process.
  2. When the file was converted, the software displayed an alert box and previewed the file’s contents in a three-pane window. The folders were neatly organized in the left pane in their original structure. I could expand/collapse the folders, select individual items (emails, contacts, etc.), and more. I also noticed small details, such as attachment icons against emails that had attachments, red bin icons against deleted items, etc.,making it easy to find the emails I was looking.

You get the option to select the folders you want to save in the converted PST. So, I selected some folders that I wanted in the PST file and clicked Save Converted File button under the Home tab. This opened a Save As window that had multiple options for saving the converted file. This is a smart feature as it can be used to convert select NSF emails into HTML or PDF files. These files can be easily opened on systems that don’t have Lotus Notes or Outlook installed.

  1. I selectedPST and clicked Next.
  2. I provided a location for saving the converted data and clicked OK.

Note:There is also an Apply Filter option in the window that allows the user to filter and select specific emails for conversion based on a particular date range or a list of email addresses.

The software began the saving process and displayed a progress bar. Once the file was saved, it opened an alert box with a link to the outputfolder.
