Registrations for JEE Main About to Close, Check Details for Fee Payment

National Test Agency had invited application for JEE Main 2019 till September 30 with an option of paying the application fee latest by October 1, 2018. All applications are to be made in an online mode on the official website of JEE Main. Students may even check the NTA official website for the latest update on schedule, availability of JEE Main admit card or announcement of dates for the second attempt.

The online fee payment could be done till the last minute of October 1, i.e. 11:59 PM and candidates who are paying the fee through bank challan can do so during the working hours of the bank. Candidates paying fee in an online mode must use SBI_MOPS and keep a proof of the same for later use. Students are advised to complete the fee payment process in time to avoid the last-minute delay.

As per official notification released on the NTA website, it’s important to know that students who are facing difficulty in remitting fee application in online mode can pay through bank e-challan mode. The offline system of remitting registration fee through e-Challan is equivalent to online payment method as the bank’s CBS is integrated with MOPS for updating details of the candidates opting for this mode.

NTA has also laid down the proper procedure to do the same. So, in case you are paying your registration fee through bank option in cash then you must know the following:

  • Candidates opting for an e-Challan mode for fee payment at any of the SBI Branches must take an A4 size printout of the e-Challan in pdf format from the SBI MOPS page that contains NTA’s information along with Bank Reference Number.
  • Candidates can visit a nearby or any SBI branch in India and deposit the amount as mentioned in the e-challan through cash. The bank shall accept only the amount printed on the e-challan.
  • The details related to amount in e-Challan, reference numbers cannot be changed and on payment of cash, the CBS system of SBI will update the status as being successful.
  • Candidates are advised to visit any of the SBI Branches for remitting registration fee immediately or within 12 hours of taking the print out of e-Challan in order to get the payment status updated in the system.
  • Students must know that MOPS system will immediately update the status of payment of a candidate only on successful realization of deposit in cash through CBS system through any of the SBI branches within the stipulated time period.
  • Candidates are also allowed to take the reprint of e-Challan from the website of the bank under the tab ‘SBI-MOPS ‘where they must select appropriate examination under NTA. Candidate must key in all the required information to take the reprint of e-Challan.

Candidates must note that the JEE Main exam dates will be announced on October 5, 2018 instead of November 15, the date notified earlier. The admit cards are scheduled to be released from December 17, 2018, onwards and will be available for download. Candidates must keep visiting the official website of JEE Main and NTA for further notifications.
